Radhika, apologies for delay in reply, I had a small internet problem.

In short, the answer is truly difficult to give, because only YOU will know what suits.

It is always hard to answer that particular question about living in cyprus.

Pissouri Village half way between Limassol and Paphos has all the charm of a cypriot village, close to the sea, excellent restaurants, "open" all year round, gets busy in the summer but never feels too crowded, (except public holidays and sundays but you get that all over cyprus, not too far from Paphos airport (25 mins.

Polis/Latchi area, NW of Paphos is very pretty.

Larnaca has great charm around its seafront and fort area, lovely particularly at night time, feels local, right by the airport of course.

The villages around Larnaca, are mostly not too far from the sea.

Best advice: Come to the island with the intention of finding an area only, not even a house, and then drive around until it "feels right".

It is the only way to know.

Avoid Paphos Town, too busy, Limassol I love, but I am biased, but it is a working town with some tourism, Ayia Napa/Protoras "feel touristy".

Nicosia, is wonderful but if you want beach close by, try somewhere else.

But do you see what I mean, difficult really to say what will suit you.

You will probably come and end up living somewhere completely away from your brief.

Good luck and let us know where you finally settle.

Final tip: Rent first and take your time if you want to buy and please read everything you can before you commit.
