Visiting Cyprus Late October - Where To Stay On Island

Hi,

We are thinking of a week's holiday end or Oct/beginning of Nov. Want to stay somewhere where the restaurants and shops are not all closing down for winter. There are 9 of us with 5 teenagers. Is there anywhere you would recommend?

Jackie Replies: Hello Fiona, Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca are very "open" during the winter season, Ayia Napa/Protoras, less so.

You will have more choice in the other areas for bars and restaurants still open, they are all year round, and the larger hotels and apartments are too, unless they decide to go for a major refurbishment.

Waterparks and the like close down all over the island for the winter, which is where the teenagers like to hang out..

But is you stay close to Paphos/Limassol you should find other things to do for them.

Difficult to give you definitive answer as I don't know what the teenagers like to do..

My personal choice would be a hotel close to Paphos where you could walk into town.

If you choose Limassol, you are more central on the island for troodos mountain/scenic trips.

If you visit Larnaca you are that bit closer if you want to take a trip to the north of the island.

The bus service is now excellent and inexpensive in Cyprus so wherever you choose to stay, you can get around the island if people want to split up and do other things..

Depends what everyone likes to do really

If you can give me more specific information I could give you a less general answer.. let me know how you get on...

Best Wishes

Jackie
